The Speyside Distillery is situated on the River Tromie, surrounded by the Cairngorms National Park. The distillery is small, charming, and renowned for its refined single malts under the SPEY brand.
🕰️ History and Legacy
Built in 1962, but only active since 1990, Speyside Distillery was founded by George Christie. Today, it is owned by Harvey's of Edinburgh. Spey whiskies have an aristocratic reputation, partly due to their historical export to Asia.
⚗️ Production and Philosophy
The whisky is made in small batches using local grains and pure spring water. It matures in bourbon, sherry, and port casks.
