This Adelphi Selection 3 Years Old is a rare and young single malt from the Japanese Akkeshi Distillery , located in Hokkaido. Adelphi, an independent Scottish bottler, is known for its rigorous selection of only the most characterful casks. This particular cask (#1004) demonstrates the promise of Akkeshi, often called "the Islay of Japan" due to the influence of the sea and peat in its style.
Despite its young age, this whisky already delivers a wonderful balance between fresh vibrancy and deep complexity, with influences of Japanese oak maturation (Mizunara) adding a unique spiciness.
