J.G. Thomson & Co is a historic Scottish whisky house from Leith, re-established in 2021 as an independent bottler of small-batch blended malts and single casks.
🕰️ History & Philosophy
Founded in the 18th century by James Gibson Thomson, a wine and spirits merchant in Leith's famous Vaults (now home to the Scotch Malt Whisky Society). The house exported whisky for almost two centuries until its last bottling in 1964. In 2021, the brand was re-established by The Artisanal Spirits Company (owner of the SMWS) from Edinburgh.

J.G. Thomson focuses on small-batch blended malts (single malts only, no grain), blended grains, and limited single casks. The bottlings are non-chill filtered and natural colour.
