π Various distilleries - blended grain
A blended grain whisky is a blend of grain whiskies from two or more distilleries, without any malt whisky.
π What is a blended grain?
Grain whisky is typically continuously distilled (column still) from grains like corn or wheat, with some malted barley. A blended grain combines grains from multiple distilleries. When young, grain is light and neutral, but with long maturation, it develops surprising depth.
π― Flavor Profile and Style
Smooth, creamy, and approachable, with notes of vanilla, coconut, custard, toffee, and white chocolate; older expressions gain more oak and depth.
π Good to know
There is no single distillery of origin. Well-known examples include Compass Box Hedonism and various independent bottlings.
