Glencadam Distillery

Schotland

📍 Brechin, Angus, Eastern Highlands, Scotland
Glencadam is a hidden gem of the Eastern Highlands, renowned for its fresh, vibrant and creamy whiskies with a particularly smooth texture.

🕰️ History and Legacy

Founded in 1825, the distillery is one of the few survivors of the 19th-century wave of Highland distilling. After several closures and changes in ownership, it was revived in 2003 by Angus Dundee Distillers, which also owns Tomintoul.

⚗️ Production and Philosophy

Glencadam uses two pairs of stills and natural spring water from the Moorlands. The whisky is known for its slightly oily character, achieved through long fermentation and gentle distillation. Maturation often takes place in bourbon casks, sometimes followed by a finish in sherry or port casks.

🍯 Flavor Profile and Style

Fresh and lively with notes of lemon, apple, vanilla, creamy malt and light spices.

🌟 Special Bottlings or Collaborations

Known from Glencadam 10, 15, 18, 21 and 25 YO, Origin 1825, and Reserva Andalucía (sherry cask).

💎 Why this distillery is special

Glencadam offers a pure Highland style that combines elegance and freshness — one of Scotland's best-kept secrets.
