Schotland
π Crieff, Perthshire, Highlands, Scotland
Glenturret is officially Scotland's oldest working distillery and combines centuries-old tradition with modern luxury, thanks in part to its partnership with the Lalique Group.
π°οΈ History and Legacy
Founded in 1763 (some sources say even earlier), Glenturret began as an illicit farm distillery. In modern times, the distillery has undergone a renaissance under the leadership of whisky maker Bob Dalgarno, the former "Whisky Maker" of The Macallan.
βοΈ Production and Philosophy
Production is small-scale and entirely manual. Glenturret uses long fermentation and slow distillation to create a smooth, oily spirit. Maturation takes place in a blend of European and American oak, carefully selected for balance and depth.
π― Flavor Profile and Style
Full and silky with notes of honey, orange, raisins, caramel and a hint of smoke in certain editions.
π Special Bottlings or Collaborations
Known from Glenturret 10β30 YO Core Range, Trinity Series by Lalique and various exclusive Single Cask releases.
π Why this distillery is special
Glenturret combines authentic craftsmanship with modern elegance β a bridge between history and haute couture.
