📍 Buckie, Speyside, Scotland
Inchgower is a characterful Speyside distillery with a maritime twist — beloved by blenders and independent bottlers alike for its complex, slightly briny style.
🕰️ History and Legacy
The distillery was founded in 1871 by Alexander Wilson & Co. and has been owned by what is now Diageo since 1936. Most of the production goes to Johnnie Walker and Bell's, but the single malts are particularly popular among connoisseurs.
⚗️ Production and Philosophy
Inchgower uses unpeated barley and long fermentation to create a full-bodied, nutty spirit. Maturation occurs primarily in bourbon casks, but sherry influences are sometimes added for added depth.
🍯 Flavor Profile and Style
Full and powerful with notes of caramel, roasted nuts, citrus, sea air and light spices.
🌟 Special Bottlings or Collaborations
Known for Flora & Fauna 14 YO, Rare Malts Selection, and various independent bottlings from Signatory and Càrn Mòr.
💎 Why this distillery is special
Inchgower combines Speyside finesse with coastal influence — a unique bridge between fruity sweetness and subtle saltiness.
