Founded in 1821 by Peter Brown, Linkwood has since become a key component of premium blends like Johnnie Walker and Ballantine's. The distillery was completely modernized in 2013, but retains its classic production methods.

The distillery has six stills and produces a light, aromatic spirit through long fermentation and gentle distillation. Maturation takes place primarily in bourbon casks, although sherry casks are sometimes used for added depth.
