📍 Isle of Mull, Scotland
Situated in the colourful harbour town of Tobermory, this distillery is the only one on the Isle of Mull and produces both unpeated and smoky whiskies.
🕰️ History and Legacy
Founded in 1798 by John Sinclair, Tobermory has a rich history, with periods of closure and revival. Since 1993, it has been owned by Burn Stewart Distillers, now part of Distell International.
⚗️ Production and Philosophy
The distillery produces two styles: the fruity Tobermory and the smoky Ledaig. Both are matured in bourbon and sherry casks in Mull's humid maritime climate. The natural influences of the sea and peat give these whiskies their distinct and complex character.
🍯 Flavor Profile and Style
Tobermory: Sweet and fruity with notes of apple, honey and malt.
Ledaig: Smoky, medicinal and salty with notes of ash, oak and leather.
🌟 Special Bottlings or Collaborations
Known from Tobermory 12 & 21 Year Old and Ledaig 10 & 18 Year Old.
