Some bottlings do not disclose the distillery from which the whisky originates. This is especially common with independent bottlers.
🔍 Why "undisclosed"?
Distilleries sometimes sell casks on the condition that their name does not appear on the label. The bottler then uses a general designation such as "Secret Speyside," "A Lowland Distillery," or their own fictional name. The whisky is usually a single malt from one distillery only its origin officially remains a secret.
💡 Good to know
Based on region, flavor profile, or cask information, an educated guess can often be made, but without official confirmation, the distillery remains "undisclosed."
