Ierland
π Ireland - distillery undisclosed
An Irish whiskey (single malt, single pot still, or single grain) from an unnamed distillery. Independent bottlers and brands use this designation when the distillery does not permit its name to be on the label.
π Why "undisclosed"?
Distilleries sometimes sell casks or whiskey on the condition that their name is not mentioned; the label then only states "one Irish distillery". The whiskey does, however, typically originate from a single distillery.
π How to recognise an Irish whiskey?
Classic Irish is typically smooth and approachable thanks to triple distillation. Single pot still an Irish speciality made from both malted and unmalted barley adds a spicy, creamy, and slightly peppery texture. Expect notes of green apple, pear, honey, vanilla, and a gentle maltiness.
