Nose

Fresh and lively with soft vanilla, sweet spices and a subtle maltiness. As the whisky opens up, notes of ripe fruit and light spiciness emerge.

Palate

Creamy and accessible with toffee, tropical fruit and vanilla. Followed by warm spices and a soft malty undertone.

Finish

Surprisingly powerful and long-lasting with notes of candy sugar, chocolate, cereals, and a hint of coffee. An elegant finish with beautiful depth.

Glenrothes has long been known as one of Speyside's hidden gems. The distillery produces a rich, fruity spirit that lends itself exceptionally well to longer maturation, and this 18-year-old bottling from Douglas Laing proves just that.

This single cask was distilled in February 2007 and matured entirely in a refill hogshead. Thanks to this relatively subtle cask type, the distillery's character has ample room to shine. No heavy wood influences, but rather a beautiful balance of fruit, malty depth, and refined spiciness.

As is customary with the Old Particular series, this whisky was bottled without added colorants and without chill-filtration. With an alcohol percentage of 48.4%, it offers sufficient strength, while fully preserving the elegant Speyside character.
