Fresh and vibrant with a fruity opening. Ripe banana and fresh red summer fruits, such as strawberry and raspberry, are supported by notes of fruitcake, soft vanilla and a subtle sweetness derived from the Ruby Port cask. An elegant nose that invites without being heavy.
While the nose is primarily fresh and fruity, the palate presents itself as distinctly fuller and rounder. The red fruit shifts towards strawberry confiture and raspberry jam, while creamy vanilla and a lightly syrupy sweetness create a pleasant mouthfeel. The Port influence is emphatically present, yet beautifully preserves the fresh character of Auchroisk.
Medium-bodied with a gradual transition to a drier profile. Light tannins from the Ruby Port cask provide structure, followed by soft spices and a warming hint of wood that beautifully balances the sweetness.
Ruby Port Barrel
Auchroisk – Ruby Port Barrel - 13YO
After the first Alkmaar Single Malt, it's time for a new chapter. For Batch 2, we selected a thirteen-year-old single malt from Auchroisk, matured in a Ruby Port Barrel.
The whisky was barreled on March 13, 2013 and bottled on July 24, 2026. In the glass, Auchroisk's fresh, fruity character beautifully blends with the rich influence of Ruby Port.
Expect notes of ripe banana, strawberry, and raspberry, followed by vanilla and a soft, fruity sweetness. As the whisky opens up, the fruit becomes fuller and riper, with associations of strawberry confit and raspberry jam. In the finish, light tannins, spices, and a warm woody note provide a beautiful counterbalance.
Thus, Batch 2 has its own unique character: fresh and fruity upon first introduction, fuller in taste, and slightly drier towards the finish.
This edition, too, is an ode to Alkmaar and its history. On the label, the Molen van Piet, the Grote Kerk, and the Alkmaar canals come together again, finished with gold foil as a recognizable part of the Alkmaar Single Malt series.

Created in 1974 by Justerini & Brooks to enhance the J&B Rare blend, Auchroisk, though relatively new, has since established itself as a permanent fixture within Diageo's portfolio.

The distillery uses lightly peated barley and a long fermentation process. The result is a lively, fruity whisky with mineral freshness. The spirit is typically matured in refill bourbon and sherry casks.
