Alkmaarse Singel Malt – Limited Edition (Ardmore Cask)
This unique bottling is an ode to the courage and determination that made Alkmaar invincible in 1573. Distilled in Scotland on September 18, 2018 , and matured in a carefully selected Ardmore cask, this single malt bears a distinctive character that combines tradition and history with pure taste experience.
After a period of maturation in an old bourbon barrel, the whisky was given its final year of finishing in a new Garrison bourbon barrel , which provides extra depth, sweet notes and a pronounced balance.
The whisky shines with a deep honey color and reveals aromas of vanilla, orange, a hint of sea salt, and rosemary on the nose. The first sip reveals a layered palette of saltiness, soft peat, and creamy vanilla , harmoniously balanced by the casks. The long finish is both salty and sweet , an elegant memory that lingers.
Only 157 bottles of this special bottling are available. With them, you're not just buying a whisky, but a rare piece of Alkmaar history – bottled in honor of courage, friendship, and craftsmanship.
The Alkmaars Singel Malt label is more than just a label—it's a tribute to the city itself. The design features Piet's Mill, the Grote Kerk (Great Church), and Alkmaar's characteristic canals , icons that underscore the rich history of the cheese city. The luxurious gold-foil finish gives the bottle an elegant, collectible look worthy of Alkmaar. Each bottle is not just a whisky, but a work of art that represents the city's pride.

📍 Kennethmont, Aberdeenshire, Highlands, Scotland
Ardmore is a traditional Highland distillery that bridges Speyside fruitiness with Islay smokiness — a unique combination that gives its whiskies a distinctive character.
🕰️ History and Legacy
Founded in 1898 by Adam Teacher, son of the founder of Teacher's Highland Cream, Ardmore was intended from the outset to be a core component of the Teacher's blend. The distillery has its own peat fields, which contributes to its unique, slightly smoky profile.
⚗️ Production and Philosophy
Ardmore uses lightly peated barley (10–15 ppm) and condensers that avoid additional copper contact to preserve the rich, oily character. The whisky is matured primarily in bourbon casks, with occasional quarter casks.
🍯 Flavor Profile and Style
Full and smoky with notes of honey, malt, vanilla, apple, oak and a hint of smoke.
🌟 Special Bottlings
Ardmore Legacy, Traditional Peated, Port Wood Finish, and independent bottlings from Adelphi and Signatory Vintage.
💎 Why this distillery is special
Ardmore is the subtle smoker of the Highlands — classic, authentic, and surprisingly versatile.
