In-store Tasting | Taste the Unknown | September 12

On Saturday afternoon, September 12th, the shop will revolve around whiskies you have most likely never tasted before. From 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, we will be pouring a selection off the beaten path at De Whisky Specialist (Dijk 25, Alkmaar): no big names, but definitely big flavors. Because it is precisely where almost no one looks that the greatest discoveries are made.

We won't reveal exactly what will be opened. But here are three hints to pique your curiosity:

A single malt from a subtropical island where you would sooner expect tea plantations and night markets than whisky casks, and where the warm climate fast-tracks the maturation process.

A surprise from the land of wine, champagne, and cognac. You can immediately taste in the glass that they understand a thing or two about casks, terroir, and patience there.

And from a renowned Scottish independent bottler: a smoky single malt from a 'secret address' on a world-famous whisky island. Almost no one knows the name on the label, but you will recognize the style instantly.
