The GlenAllachie is a modern classic — reborn under the leadership of whisky legend Billy Walker and now renowned for its deep sherry profile and rich complexity.
🕰️ History and Legacy
Built in 1967 by Mackinlay McPherson Ltd., it was a blending workhorse for many years until Billy Walker (formerly GlenDronach and BenRiach) took over the distillery in 2017. Since then, GlenAllachie has been transformed into an independent force with a broad single malt range.
⚗️ Production and Philosophy
The distillery uses four stills and a long fermentation period (up to 160 hours), resulting in a fruity, creamy spirit. GlenAllachie matures its whisky in a variety of casks—from Oloroso and PX sherry to virgin oak, Rioja, and Chinquapin.
🍯 Flavor Profile and Style
Rich and layered with notes of raisin, toffee, honey, dark chocolate, orange peel and spice.
🌟 Special Bottlings or Collaborations
Known from GlenAllachie 12, 15 and 18 YO, Virgin Oak Series, Wine Cask Editions and Single Cask Releases.
