📍 Elgin, Speyside, Scotland
Glenlossie is an elegant Speyside distillery, famed for its light, oily texture and floral fruitiness — a favourite base for many premium blends.
🕰️ History and Legacy
Founded in 1876 by John Duff, who would later also found Longmorn and Benriach, Glenlossie has been part of Diageo since 1929. The whisky is primarily used in blends like Haig and Johnnie Walker, but occasionally appears as a single malt in the Flora & Fauna collection.
⚗️ Production and Philosophy
The distillery uses six stills and a unique purifier on each still, which draws the vapours back for further distillation — giving the spirit its signature light, oily character.
🍯 Flavor Profile and Style
Delicate and floral with notes of green apple, chamomile, honey, citrus and light grain sweetness.
🌟 Special Bottlings or Collaborations
Known for Flora & Fauna 10 YO, Signatory Vintage releases and independent bottlings from Càrn Mòr and Douglas Laing.
💎 Why this distillery is special
Glenlossie combines technique and tradition to create a whisky that is both complex and approachable — a rare balance in Speyside.
