Founded in 2016 by Patrick van der Peet, a former whisky and gin importer, the name "Wagging Finger" playfully refers to the brand's unconventional attitude: independent, curious, and unafraid to challenge the established order.

The distillery operates entirely independently: from distilling gin and genever to producing and maturing its own single malt whisky. Everything is done on a small scale, with attention to detail and flavor. The first whiskies have been released since 2023.
