This bottling from The Kinship series (Hunter Laing / Scott Laing) is a tribute to Fèis Ìle 2020 and brings a particularly mature Caol Ila to the glass. With 30 years of maturation, you get Caol Ila's recognizable style — maritime, mineral and refined smoky — but beautifully rounded: less "raw smoke", more elegant coastal smoke, citrus oil, soft vanilla oak and a subtle saltiness. Bottled as a cask strength bottling (at 42.4%, so soft-strong in character, but very drinkable) and limited to 532 bottles. This is an Islay whisky that doesn't shout, but whispers: complex, layered and with a long, calm finish.
