Full yet refined Caol Ila peat with floral notes, light sweetness, and subtle dried fruit influences from the Oloroso casks.

Soft and smooth with elegant smoke, a hint of meatiness, coastal salinity, and notes of blackberries and raisins.

Finish

Medium to long, with the peat becoming increasingly prominent. Refined smoke, soft sweetness, and a persistent maritime character create a remarkably balanced finish. 🥃

This 10-year-old Islay bottling from Adelphi proves that character doesn't always have to be accompanied by a dark color or excessive cask influence. Behind its surprisingly light appearance lies a refined yet distinct Caol Ila, fully matured in refill Oloroso sherry butts.

The characteristic Islay peat forms the backbone of this whisky, but is beautifully supported by subtle notes of dark fruit, raisins, and blackberries. The coastal influences provide a pleasant saltiness, while the sherry casks add just enough depth without overpowering the distillery character.

What makes this bottling special is its development in the glass. While the first sip presents itself as soft and accessible, the whisky gradually unfolds into a long, refined, and surprisingly full finish. A brilliant example of how elegant peat and subtle sherry influences can enhance each other.
