With the Heavily Peated series, Kilkerran reveals a completely different side of the Glengyle Distillery. While the regular Kilkerran is known for its subtly peated character, this limited release is produced with malt of approximately 45 PPM, resulting in a powerful, smoky Campbeltown single malt with plenty of depth.
Batch 14 is bottled at a robust 57.9% cask strength and matured primarily in bourbon casks, supplemented with a small proportion of sherry casks. This cask combination ensures a beautiful balance between fresh influences from the bourbon wood and extra complexity from the sherry cask, without the distillery's character or the peat smoke fading into the background.
Like all Kilkerran bottlings, this release is also non-chill filtered and without added colouring. A distinct Campbeltown whisky that impressively combines power, elegance, and the region's characteristic maritime style.
