Nose

Campfire smoke and smoked ham, followed by pear, apple and a fresh, salty sea breeze.

Palate

Full-bodied and sweet-savory. Toasted marshmallows, roasted almonds and vanilla, with truffle smoke and a hint of sea salt.

Finish

Long and warm, with smouldering smoke, a sweet vanilla note and a slightly saline finish.

Torabhaig is located on the south coast of the Isle of Skye, in restored farm buildings overlooking the sea. The distillery has been operating since 2017 and is known for its heavily peated single malt, which quickly established itself as a favourite among smoky whisky enthusiasts.

For this first batch, Living Souls selected seven-year-old Torabhaig from first-fill bourbon casks. The fresh bourbon wood brings vanilla, fruit and sweetness, which complement the peat smoke and Skye’s maritime character. Bottled at cask strength, 51.5%, with natural colour and non-chill filtered.

A fine choice for lovers of smoky island whisky who want to taste how quickly this young distillery is developing.
