This Adelphi Selection comes from Teaninich Distillery, known for a robust, often slightly "waxy" and malty spirit that holds up exceptionally well against pronounced cask influence. For this release, Adelphi chose a first-fill Oloroso sherry hogshead, which provides instantly recognizable sherry depth: raisins, dates, nuts, cocoa, and warm spices.
At the same time, Teaninich remains visible in the structure: a drier, tighter profile than many classic sherry bombs, with a beautiful tension between fruit, spice, and an elegant, slightly dry sherry finish. With only 271 bottles, this is an ideal bottle for lovers of sherry cask whisky who appreciate intensity and balance.
