Nose

Fresh and inviting, with red fruit at the forefront. Think cherry and red currant, complemented by a light honey sweetness and a soft malty undertone. A subtle wine-like nuance in the background adds further depth.

Palate

Soft and supple, with a lovely balance between fruit and structure. Red fruit and a light sweetness are supported by creamy malt notes and a refined spiciness. The Amarone influence remains elegant and integrated, without dominating the whole.

Finish

Medium length and refined, with lingering fruitiness, a soft dry note and a fresh, clean finish.

This Fercullen Amarone Cask Influence is an elegant and contemporary Irish single malt from Powerscourt Distillery , in which wine cask aging plays a clear yet refined role. Part of The Estate Series, this bottling demonstrates how Irish whiskey can integrate influences from the wine world without losing its distinctive identity.

The maturation influenced by Amarone wine casks adds an extra layer to the whisky's character. There's no overpowering sweetness, but a subtle depth with fruity and slightly spicy notes. Bottled without chill filtration and in limited quantities, this is an expression that revolves primarily around balance, finesse, and nuance.

An interesting choice for enthusiasts who enjoy exploring how wine cask influences translate into a modern Irish single malt.
