The Box Quercus III – Petraea is the second part in the award-winning Quercus series of the former Box Distillery (now: High Coast Distillery). This release is all about French oak , botanically known as Quercus Petraea , known for its dense structure and rich aromatic properties.
The whisky is unpeated (not peated) and finished for 19 months in fresh French oak barrels. The influence of the wood is clearly noticeable in the deep, spicy flavor profile that characterizes this expression.
