The American oak barrels have a lot of vanilla sweet influences which combines beautifully with the soft salty characters of Islay. Layered sweetness combines with fresh flowers, fresh mint, white fruit and subtle spices. The Islay influences are those of a fresh walk on the beach with salt which combines wonderfully with the sweet vanilla.
