The whisky has matured for 10 years in a first-fill sherry butt , resulting in a deep amber whisky with rich notes of fruit, honey, and soft spices. As always with Adelphi, this bottling is unfiltered, uncolored , and bottled at cask strength to preserve the spirit's natural character. Only 636 bottles have been released worldwide, making this whisky a true limited edition.

Linkwood Distillery is a Scottish distillery located in the Speyside region, specifically in Elgin. The distillery was originally founded in 1821 by Peter Brown. Over the years, the distillery has had several owners and the production process has been modernized several times. In 1962, the distillery was rebuilt under the supervision of MacKenzie, and in 1971, a second distillery with four stills was built next to the original site. These two sites were named Linkwood A and Linkwood B respectively. The older Linkwood A site ceased regular production in 1985, although some experimental distillations continued into the 1990s.

Linkwood is known for its smooth and complex whiskies, which are often used in blends, but are also bottled as single malts. The distillery is part of Diageo's Flora & Fauna range, and there are also semi-official bottlings from Gordon & MacPhail, often matured in ex-sherry casks.
