Ardnamurchan is known for its exciting experiments with cask aging and peat, and the new Sauternes Peated 2025 bottling is a prime example. While previous editions were smooth and unpeated, this release deliberately opts for a fully peated character – smoky, yet with the refinement Ardnamurchan is renowned for.
For this bottling, the distillery selected 29 ex-bourbon casks , in which the spirit was first aged for three years. This was followed by a second maturation of over 3.5 years in ex-Sauternes barriques , which gives the whisky its distinct layering and richness.
With a limited edition of just 8,460 bottles worldwide, Ardnamurchan Sauternes Peated 2025 is a truly special limited edition: a fusion of smoke, sweetness, and craftsmanship – bottled in the way that makes this west Highland distillery unique.
