With Cask Orkney 15 Years, AD Rattray celebrates the rugged nature and ancient folklore of the Orkney Islands. This single malt comes from an unnamed distillery on Orkney and was matured entirely in bourbon casks, allowing its maritime, slightly smoky character to be beautifully enhanced by vanilla, toffee, and soft fruit.
In the glass, you get a classic Island style: soft peat smoke, salty sea air, and a hint of wood smoke, combined with green apples, peach, and subtle nuttiness. The bourbon maturation gives it a velvety texture and accessible sweetness, while the 46% ABV provides ample strength and length. An ideal whisky for fans of Highland Park-style profiles, but in an independent, honest bottling.
